Cultivating a High-Performance Organizational Culture
Value and Objective:
Peter Drucker's famous remark, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast,” emphasizes the significant impact of workplace culture—much of which operates unconsciously—on team development and performance. In this course, teams identify and address the hidden cultural barriers to cultivating a high-performance culture. The course can be conducted independently or integrated into team coaching programs for enhanced impact. Additionally, the course can incorporate feedback from employee or customer surveys.
Outcomes:
Since culture can often be obscure and ever-changing, perhaps the most valuable outcome of this course is equipping participants with a method for regularly assessing cultural dynamics. This boosts the team’s agility, responsiveness, and overall effectiveness. Participants gain a new lens through which to view culture.
As a result of the course, the team will:
Identify the lesser-known cultural norms and values and their influence on motivation, performance, and development goals.
Determine new cultural elements that foster key aspects of high performance, such as trust, cohesion, effective decision-making, communication, and clear roles and responsibilities.
Decide on actionable strategies and specific behaviors to address cultural barriers and embed new norms.
Develop confidence and accountability in leading and sustaining cultural change.
Throughout the course, cultural elements that require attention at the corporate level frequently emerge. These issues can be captured and communicated to senior leaders for addressing.
